AN INTERVIEW WITH AGS

In a nutshell, who is Ali Graphic Services?

Ali Graphic Services is a design and print service corporation providing commercial art, graphic design, printing and copying services.

What is your company's mission and vision for the future?

Ali Graphic Services is committed to forming lasting relationships with its customers by consistently providing them with quality services and products at fair prices; that's our mission.  And our hope - our vision - is to be considered as a high-quality, dependable shop where people will get what they should get at the most reasonable prices.

Tell us about the early years of Ali Graphic Services.

Ali Graphic Services first opened its doors on December 1, 1985, in Los Angeles, California, as a printing industry service bureau.  At that time AGS was a prepress house that provided color separation and film composition for printers, graphic designers, publishers, advertising agencies, manufacturing industry and the occasional "general public" customer.  But most of our clients were in-trade.

Q: Tell us about one of your favorite customers.

AGS:  Our recent "favorite" client is Lisa Groner, who oversaw the printing of a program book for Toast of Tampa Bay, a local nonprofit chorus group.  With her extensive managerial experience and background in printing, Lisa was dissatisfied was previous years' program books, which lacked attention to detail, layout and print quality.  After working with AGS, Lisa was quite pleased with our demonstrated knowledge and customer service throughout the process.  In fact, we picked up another client as a result of working with Ms. Groner!

Q: What makes Ali Graphic Services stand out in the crowd?

AGS:  Our customer service coupled with our understanding of the printing process, which allows us to predict what the outcome of a particular project will look like on paper.  What looks pretty on the computer screen won't necessarily look as pretty when printed.  Plus, we always provide the opportunity for our customers to view the final product before it goes to print, something our customers really appreciate!

Q: Have any of your customers won awards as a result of the products and services provided to them by AGS?

AGS:  Our clients have earned many awards for the work we have done, like the book covers for KIVA Publishing.  Additionally, we have done work for Disney and Landmark Studios and have produced many book covers.

Q: Who is a typical AGS customer?

AGS:  The general public and a wide variety of industries that seek printing and graphic design services.

Q: What are your printing capabilities?

AGS:  Ali Graphic Services has 5 high-end digital machines that can handle 12,000 sheets per hour (b/w and color).  We have a 2-color press (in-house) and reliable vendors who can accommodate large, complicated runs (e.g., 40,000, 4-color, 64-page magazine) after we've done the design and layout.  For large projects, like posters and banners, we have an Epson 10,000 dye sublimation printer, which accommodates any length and up to 44" wide.

Q: What problems or issues do you solve for your clients.

AGS:  Ali Graphic Services troubleshoots each project as it comes in.  We analyze them for missing elements, font conflicts, resolution problems, and general layout concerns.  Then, before we commit the project to print, we provide our customers with a final "proof" of what the finished product will look like.  And our clients are always happy when they receive their finished products.

Q: In closing, what other information would you like to share?

AGS:  Ali Graphic Services has a combined 50 years of experience in the printing industry.  We have provided services to many, many high-profile clients and have a very high rate of client retention.  It is our belief that business is not given to you; it has to be earned each and every day.
